Lacemaking Classes at The Lace House

1st Thursday of each month starting February 7th to November 2019 – 7pm – 9pm

3rd Saturday of the month starting February 16th to November 2019.

Classes are open to anyone from 5 to 105 years young.  Students under 15 years must be accompanied by an adult though.

The cost for the classes is $15.00 per session plus incidental expenses.  ie. photocopying and specific items for lessons.

The House will only be open to those attending the classes, except for parents of participants or guild members officially sanctioned by the guild.

Sessions will be a mixed class.  Techniques offered include:

  • Bobbin Lace – Torchon, Braid, Basic Bucks Point, Basic Bedfordshire.
  • Tatting
  • Knitted Lace
  • Crochet Lace – Irish, Hairpin, Filet.
  • Knotted Lace – Teneriffe, Armenian, Filet & Netting
  • Net Based Laces – Limerick, Tambour, Carrickmacross

Students will be required to nominate which lace they wish to pursue prior to the first class.  Students will be required to provide their own equipment for each class and a requirement list will be provided prior to the first class, as well as a list of suppliers.  Maximum number of students per session is 12.

Most importantly, each student is expected to enjoy the lacemaking experience.
